The word telematics is a combination of telecommunications (exchange of information across a long distance) and informatics (collection and analysis of data to address real-world problems).
Therefore, telematics is the digital exchange of information between vehicles and computers. It assists vehicle monitoring and diagnostic data transfer from vehicles to computers. Telematics systems exchange all information, including speed, idling duration, and tire pressure, as well as fuel use and unsafe driving.
How Do Telematics Systems Work?
It is a four-step process:
